Peeled Challenge

When you are “peeled” back to your core, what do you find? During the month of October, we are challenging Cross Points Church to put into action what we learned in September. Be filled with the Holy Spirit to see an increase of His fruit in your life.

Every day we will release a new challenge. This challenge will consist of a Scripture, a time of Waiting on God and Walking out that truth. Check back daily or register at the bottom of this page to receive a daily text and/or email notification.

Today’s Peeled Challenge:

Fruit: Self Control

Wait: Proverbs 16:32 – Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.

Walk: Tomorrow – Don’t listen to the radio in the car instead pray.

Fruit: Gentleness

Wait: Proverbs 15:4 – Gentle words are a tree of life

Walk: Call your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, friend, etc. – speak words of life.

Day 19

Fruit: Faithfulness

Wait: Prov. 11:25 – The generous will prosper

Walk: Be faithful in your generosity toward the church this Sunday.

Day 17

Fruit: Goodness

Wait: 2 Thessalonians 3:13 – …never get tired of doing good.

Walk: Pray with your waitress/waiter and tip big.

Day 16

Fruit: Kindness

Wait: Proverbs 3:3 Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.

Walk: Do one random act of kindness today.

Day 15

Fruit: Kindness

Wait: 2 Tim 2:24 A servant of the Lord must…be kind to everyone.

Walk: Compliment a complete stranger

Day 14

Fruit: Kindness

Wait: Acts 20:35 – It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Walk: Give one possession of yours away to someone today.

Day 13

Fruit: Patience

Wait: 2 Corinthians 6:6 – We prove ourselves by…our patience…by the Holy Spirit within us…

Walk: Take 3 minutes and pray for the person with whom you tend to lose patience.

Day 12

Fruit: Patience

Wait: Romans 15:5 – May God, who gives patience help you live in complete harmony with each other.

Walk: Give up your space in line… twice!

Day 11

Fruit: Patience

Wait: Psalm 37:7 – Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;

Walk: Take 7 minutes of silence to listen for God’s still small voice

Day 10

Fruit: Peace

Wait: Ps. 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.

Walk: Before you go to bed pray for peace in the Middle East

Day 9

Fruit: Peace

Wait: Matthew 5:9 – God blesses those who work for peace

Walk: Spend 5 minutes today asking God to heal a broken relationship.

Day 8

Fruit: Joy

Wait: Jeremiah 31:13 – The young women will dance for joy, and the men—old and young—will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy.

Walk: Dance around the house with your children (or whomever).

Rejoice that Jesus has exchanged your sorrow for rejoicing!

Day 7

Fruit: Joy

Wait: Phil. 2:18 Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy.

Walk: Share joy today! Post a happy photo or memory on a social media site. Or share a photo or memory with someone in person.

 

Day 6

Fruit: Joy

Wait: Phil. 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

Walk: Before you go to bed tonight, sing a worship song–out loud!

 

Day 5

Fruit: Joy

Wait: Psalm 4:7 You have given me greater joy!

Walk: Give something away today! (Be Creative) We derive joy from God not things!

 

Day 4

Fruit: Love

Wait: Matthew 22:37 – You must love the Lord your God with all your heart!

Walk: Love Does! Spend 25 minutes worshipping God in song and prayer!

 

Day 3

Fruit: Love

Wait: John 13:34 – “Love one another, just as I have loved you!

Walk: Love listens! Share a meal or coffee TODAY with someone. Ask what dreams they have and then listen.

Day 2

Fruit: Love

Wait: Romans 12:10 – “Love each other with genuine affection, take delight in honoring each other.”

Walk: Contact a friend. Have no agenda other than asking how they are doing and if there is anything you can do for them.

 

Day 1

Fruit: Love

Wait: 1 Cor 14:1 Let love be your highest goal!

Walk: Send someone a handwritten note telling them how much you love them.
