Vision: Connect Commit Create

Vision Email Banner

The three “C’s” of Cross Points are Connect, Commit, Create. This is where we are going as a church and it will come to define who we are.

However, before we talk about vision we must remember the WHY of vision. It does little good to put together a few nicely phrased words without having a correct understanding of why we do what we do. In other words, something deeper should be driving us than a few cute words that rhyme!

As believers in Jesus we HAVE to have the foundation that we are the hope of the world. People are looking for deeper meaning in life and we have been given the great good news which fully answers this question. Our good news is simply this: Jesus came into the world to save sinners such as you and I. As believers each of us have been radically changed, we’ve been born again. It is this message we share with the world and it is a joyful happy message.

Stories – August Sermon Series

August 2013 sermon series at Cross Points Church in Shawnee Kansas

Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God has power to do what He promised.” -Romans 4:20-21 (NIV)

Each of us have some sort of dream or ideal outlook on life. According to some researchers, we are most optimistic at age 23. However, by age 53 (on average) all that optimism has turned to complete pessimism – life has not gone according to plan.

The age may be different, but we all experience these feelings. It leads us to wonder what happened to our own “happily ever after” (as Americans we all love fairy tales)?

During the month of August we will spend time focusing on that question. What happened to my “happily ever after”? We’ll explore both our own personal stories, but also the stories of those in Scripture (including John the Baptist and Abraham).

Words – July Sermon Series

Words: A New Sermon Series for July

The Power of Words!

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. – Proverbs 18:21 NLT

The sermon series for July is entitled: “Words”  This month we will focus on the meaning and power of words.  Words can bring death or life.  Words can bring encouragement or despair.  Consequently, the words we speak have tremendous impact.
Jesus also tells of the importance of words. He says, “By your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.” Join us this month as we learn about words that bring life and wholeness.

Kalos Sermon Series

Kalos or Beautiful Christmas at Cross Points Church

God Gave

For God so loved the world that He gave….

One of the most familiar passages of Scriptures communicates the profound truth that God gave. He gave His one and only unique Son.

God gave that which was was precious. God gave willingly. Jesus Himself says, “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” (John 10:18 NLT)

So we see that God gives and Jesus willingly lays His life down. It’s a sacrifice and gift the church has been proclaiming for over 2,000 years. This is something we should never forget.

It’s what a Kalos (Beautiful) Christmas is all about.
