E3: Powerful Strategies for Managing Mental Illness

PathwaytoHope-E3-Logo-300x150

Does someone you love have a Mental Illness?

Living with a person that has mental illness can be stressful, and overwhelming. Mental illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. They often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life.

Cross Points is offering an eight week course through the non-profit Pathway To Hope for families dealing with mental illness. E3: Encourage, Educate, Empower offers effective strategies for coping with the challenges mental illness brings to families, friends, and the communities in which they live. It was written by professionals in their fields who volunteered their time and expertise.

Spaces Sermon Series

Spaces graphic

We all inhabit different spaces – spaces for work, for family, for recreation, for worship. Each of these spaces come with their own set of relationships, responsibilities, and pressures. From the office to the park, from home to church, every space has its place, and we know our role in each.

But sometimes, rather than inhabiting these spaces, it feels a bit more like we’re just taking up space. One day runs into the next. And the next. And the next. Over time, rather than inhabiting these spaces, we simply exist in them.

But what happens when we invite Jesus – and His invitation to be disciples who make disciples – into all of the spaces of our lives? What happens when we create space – in all the spaces of our lives – for God to work?

Beyond the Routine

Beyond the Routine

The kids are out of school, summer is here and schedules have changed.  Instead of the routine road of long school days, kids are now at fun camps, swimming lessons and preparing for exciting missions trips.  Instead of learning in the four walls of the classroom, many children will be learning in a totally different environment!  They are going beyond the routine of classroom instruction.

In our spiritual lives, we too need to go beyond the routine.  We need to continue reading the Bible, engage in prayer, open our heart in worship and expand our generosity.  But, we need to go beyond the routine and see our spiritual walk in a whole new perspective.  Join us this month as we engage in spiritual habits and go beyond the routine.
